About Us

MaxWest was initially capitalized by its founding shareholders, follow-on capitalization has been provided by the company's controlling shareholder, Leaf Clean Energy Company: www.leafcleanenergy.com. Leaf is a clean energy asset company that began trading on the London Stock Exchange AIM market in 2007, with an initial market capitalization and cash available for equity investments of approximately US$400 million. Leaf was established to acquire, own, operate and manage both clean energy companies and projects in North America. Its investment strategy is to achieve long term capital appreciation primarily through privately negotiated acquisitions of interests in both projects and companies which own assets or participate in the clean energy sector.

Our management team has vast experience in the identification of applicable technologies and the development and financing of energy and infrastructure projects. Bringing a unique blend of innovative application of the right technology to the right challenge, we provide consistent results. MaxWest Environmental Systems is just beginning, but it is being built on the knowledge, experience and reliability of our management team.

Ross M. Patten, Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Patten is the CEO of MaxWest Environmental Systems, Inc. and brings over 35 years of expertise in the areas of solid waste, water and waste-to-energy management. Mr. Patten is an accomplished executive, skilled in mergers and acquisitions, with a proven track record. He has been the former Chairman and CEO of Synagro Technologies and Senior Executive for Wheelabrator Technologies and Browning, Ferris Industries. Since 1994, Mr. Patten has also been a Partner of Bedford Capital, a merchant banking and advisory firm with expertise in the waste management and forest product industries. Ross serves on the Board of Directors for several public and private environmental companies.

William Baker, Vice President, Marketing

Mr. Baker is a long time Florida resident, lawyer, real estate developer, land developer and conservation consultant. He practiced real estate, finance, and land use law in Orlando, Florida from 1966 -1992, and was a founding partner (1969) of one of Central Florida's largest law firms. Mr. Baker has been CEO of the real estate subsidiary of a public utility company. He founded, operated and later sold a residential development/construction firm. Mr. Baker was a founder of MaxWest and is active in developing Florida projects.
